Our Winter 2024 Teen Social Enterprise Interns Hanadi, Marwa, and Najma designed and printed this unisex zip-up hoodie that expresses their individual desires for peace and change in the world.

During the time of their internship, there were many issues plaguing our community and world that we discussed: homelessness, violence, famine, war, genocide. And while their passions and ideal solutions differed, they all agreed that in order for our world to experience more peace, we had to start that change within ourselves.

Together with Rowan Ash Artistry, our Summer 2022 Teen Social Enterprise Interns Agatha, Grace, and Roda designed this hoodie that we are proud to share.

These 3 young women have faced hatred and discrimination because of who they are — refugees from another country. It has been difficult for them to feel like they belong in their community or among peers because of these experiences. Speak Love is their wish for everyone. Love makes people feel safe and welcomed.

Upendo = Love in Swahili
Urukundo = Love in Kinyarwanda
