Teen Club

School based peer support groups

What is Teen Club?

Teen Club offers school-based programming in partnership with five area high schools, ESL specialists, and Kent School Services Network social workers offering weekly connection and learning focused on refugee and immigrant teen girls. Led by paid refugee and immigrant leaders, Teen Club Curriculum covers topics like mental health, healthy relationships, career exploration, and entrepreneurship in addition to opportunities to practice speaking English in a cross-cultural environment where students share similar migration experiences.

How It Works

  • Young women leaders serve around 40 refugee and immigrant teen girls at 5 area partner high schools
  • Leaders facilitate cohorts for teen students connecting teens to resources like academic support, providing weekly connection and learning focused club curriculum, and hosting workshops and field trips centered around mental health support, fun, connection, and belonging.
