Meet Will
Will is the intern at Treetops focusing on developing service-learning curriculum, as well as completing various tasks and assignments relating to his internship. Will is a current student and seeks to take a posture of curiosity outside the classroom and into whatever environment he finds himself in. Whether that's learning a new skill, investing in current relationships, or rekindling an old passion project, he tries his best to learn and grow alongside those around him.
Will was born in Grand Rapids, moved to Iowa for seven years, then to Managua, Nicaragua at 8 years old where he stayed until moving back to the US for university in 2019. Self-identifying as a TCK, home is a complicated concept making Treetops Collective's mission of “together transforming our communities into places of belonging” especially exciting for him.
He is planning to graduate with a bachelors in Social Work at the end of the 22-23 academic year and hopes to pursue a masters in Social Work in the near future. Will feels most at home when spending time in the sun, preferably at the beach with friends, and enjoys the conversation that comes with long road trips or community events. He enjoys photography and playing ultimate frisbee in his free time, as well as exploring the many restaurants and parks of GR whenever his budget and schedule allows.
