Meet Trish

Trish Okolo  is passionate about creating spaces where community members can establish their roots and thrive, transforming the community into a welcoming place for all. She began her journey at Treetops Collective as a development intern before transitioning into her current role as Operations/Development Coordinator .In this role, Trish is instrumental in supporting the organizational operations and development efforts, ensuring the successful execution of Treetops' mission to empower new American women in West Michigan.

Born and raised in Nigeria, Trish has a strong background in international community development. She has worked with various organizations across different continents, including the Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative in Nigeria, where she impacted thousands of young leaders through mentorship programs and community engagement strategies. Her international experiences, including a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship in the UK and research on WASH and girls' education in Africa, have shaped her approach to cross-cultural collaboration and sustainable development. With eight years of experience, she excels in strategic planning, team leadership, and relationship management. Her commitment to leveraging women education as a lever for equity and excellence drives her work.

Trish holds a Master's degree in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Grand Valley State University, United States, an Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Diaspora Management from West Midlands Open college, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Jos, Nigeria. Her diverse educational background and international experiences, including fellowships in the United Kingdom, Canada, Ghana, and Italy, have equipped her with a global perspective on community development and social innovation.

In her free time, Trish enjoys spending time with family, volunteering, mentoring young leaders, and engaging in cross-cultural collaborations. She is excited to be part of the Treetops team, contributing to a mission that aligns with her dedication to social justice and female empowerment.
