Meet Rachel
My name’s Rachel Ntwari and I came here to the USA in 2014. I was under 21 years old. It was so hard because I came here by myself. I didn’t know anyone else. I was in Phoenix, Arizona, spoke little British English, and it was hard to understand American English. I decided to go back to school and work at the same time.
In 2016 I decided to move to Michigan, and I joined College. It was a good decision that I made in my life. After 2yrs in College, I decided to have a family. Now God give me 2 beautiful daughters and nice and handsome husband. I thank you God now I have my only family here with me.
My happiness is to help our communities, even others. I know how hard it is when you don’t know languages, so in 2017 I stand to help refugees to make calls, do some applications for jobs, benefits, etc. I speak 6 languages: Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Luganda, Kirundi, French, and English. I’m happy that I can help someone who speak any one of those languages. I volunteer as a translator at Bethany Christian, and work as a Supervisor on Manufacturing Production. After Covid, many things changed, I decided to work from home so I can take care of my baby. I still work as an interpreter at hospitals, schools, and sometimes home visits.
Now I’m happy to be one of the leaders at Treetops because my Happiness is to help special new members in USA.
