Meet Akriti
Akriti was born and raised in Nepal. Moved to the United States at age 10. Moving to a new country and adapting to a different culture was a meaningful transition that shaped her perspective and the way she connects with others. Growing up between two cultures has helped her understand the importance of belonging, support, and having a community where people feel valued and accepted. Those experiences have shaped her passion for helping others and for creating spaces where individuals feel respected and heard.
Akriti is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Ferris State University and will be graduating in December 2026. Throughout her education and experiences, she has developed a passion for working with diverse communities, building meaningful connections, and supporting individuals as they navigate challenges and work towards achieving their goals.
In 2026, Akriti joined Treetops Collective as a Driver's Training Intern, supporting the program that helps immigrant and refugee women gain confidence, independence, and access to resources as they work toward their goals.
