Driving Independence

A License, A Dream, A Newfound Freedom

A Documentary Premiere

APRIL 26 | 1–3:30PM
GRAND RAPIDS ART MUSEUM

101 Monroe Center St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

A driver’s license may seem ordinary to many of us. But for refugee and immigrant women rebuilding their lives in West Michigan, it can change everything.

It means the ability to get to work. To pick up a child from school when they are sick. To access food and essential services. To pursue education. To move through the world with confidence and independence.

It means freedom.

Join us for a special evening celebrating the premiere of a new documentary short following the stories of two women journeying through the Treetops Collective’s Driver’s Training Program—a program created after listening closely to the dreams and barriers facing refugee and immigrant women in our community.

Because a driver’s license is not just a card.
It is independence.
Opportunity.
And the freedom to build a new life.
